The Perfume Pagoda Festival (Chùa Hương)
The Perfume Pagoda Festival is one of Vietnam's most iconic spiritual events. Held in My Duc District, Hanoi, it officially starts from the 6th day of the first lunar month and lasts until the end of the third lunar month. The festival typically opens its gates daily from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM to welcome pilgrims.
Visitors can participate in various traditional activities, such as rowing along the scenic Yen Stream, mountain climbing, and offering incense in sacred caves like Huong Tich. The atmosphere is filled with the scent of burning joss sticks and the echoes of Buddhist prayers. Regarding food and drinks, you must try local specialties like "rau sắng" soup, apricot juice, and "chè lam" (sticky rice ginger cake).
The entrance fee is approximately 80,000 VND per person, with an additional boat trip cost of around 50,000 VND. For convenience, the site offers modern amenities including a cable car system (around 220,000 VND for a round trip), public restrooms, and numerous rest stops along the path. This festival is a perfect blend of natural beauty and profound spiritual heritage that every traveler should experience at least once.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is celebrated every year in Vietnam on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. It usually takes place in September or October, when the moon is brightest and roundest. The festival is held in many places, from city squares to small villages, creating a joyful atmosphere everywhere.
During the festival, children carry colorful lanterns and join parades in the evening. Families gather to enjoy mooncakes, fruits, and tea while watching lion dances and listening to traditional music. Street performances and games make the event lively and exciting.
Food and drinks are an important part of the celebration. Mooncakes with different flavors, such as lotus seed or green tea, are the most popular. Vendors also sell snacks and refreshing drinks at affordable prices.
Most activities start in the late afternoon and continue until midnight. Entrance is usually free, but food and souvenirs may cost between 1 to 5 dollars. Facilities such as seating areas, restrooms, and parking are provided to make the festival convenient for visitors.
