Đề bài:Read the following passage about food and the environment and mark the letter A, B, C or D on your answer sheet to indicate the best answer to each of the following questions.
Humans have traditionally eaten both meat and vegetables, but meat consumption has increased dramatically. According to the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), global meat demand has risen by over 500 percent in the past 50 years. This growth is driven by a rapidly increasing population and rising incomes, which leads to higher meat consumption. With the global population expected to reach nine billion by 2050 and developing countries becoming wealthier, the demand for meat is unlikely to slow down.
Increasing meat production to meet this demand could be detrimental to the environment.
Currently, 30 percent of Earth's land surface and 70 percent of agricultural land are used for raising livestock. Every year, more land is cleared to meet the rising demand, contributing to deforestation. FAO reports indicate that meat production is responsible for 70 percent of the Amazon deforestation in South America. Large factory farms consume significant amounts of energy and produce heavy pollution. It is clear that our current meat consumption and production methods are not sustainable in the long term. In response to these challenges, food scientists are exploring new ways to produce meat. Dutch researchers are developing lab-grown meat by using cow cells to create "muscle" tissue. This method could reduce the energy and land required for raising cattle by about 40 percent. Meanwhile, scientists in the United States and China are working on creating natural "meaty" flavors from mushrooms to enhance plant-based foods. They believe that natural flavors are healthier and more acceptable to consumers. Although lab-grown meat is still in development, large-scale production remains a decade away due to high costs. The Dutch team is spending over $200,000 to produce enough meat for one burger. While many people are not yet ready to accept lab-grown meat, it may become a necessity in the future.

Vocational education and training (VET) plays a crucial role in preparing individuals for specific careers. Unlike traditional academic education, which focuses on theory and general knowledge, VET emphasizes practical skills and hands-on experience. This type of education is designed to equip students with the technical abilities they need to succeed in industries such as healthcare, construction, information technology, and hospitality.
(I) One of the key benefits of vocational education is that it provides direct pathways to employment. (II) Many VET programs are developed in partnership with industry experts to ensure that graduates possess the skills which employers are looking for. (III) In some cases, VET programs include apprenticeships, allowing learners to gain work experience while earning a salary. (IV)
Vocational training also offers flexibility. Programs are available at different levels, from short courses to advanced diplomas, allowing individuals to choose a program that suits their career goals. Some people enter VET directly after high school, while others may pursue vocational training later to change careers or improve their skills. This flexibility makes vocational education accessible to a wide range of learners.
In addition to practical skills, VET emphasizes the development of soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. These skills are essential in today's job market, where employers value both technical knowledge and the ability to work effectively with others. By combining technical and interpersonal skills, VET graduates are well-prepared for the demands of the modern workplace.
As technology continues to evolve, vocational education must adapt to keep up with industry changes. New programs are emerging in fields such as renewable energy, cybersecurity, and advanced manufacturing. This ensures that VET remains relevant and meets the needs of the economy.
Overall, vocational education and training provide a practical and effective way to gain the skills required for various careers. It offers opportunities for lifelong learning and career advancement, helping individuals succeed in an ever-changing world of work.
