Last week, my class had a day to remember. On the weekend, we decided to visit Con Son Pagoda. It was supposed to be a fun and educational trip for all of us. When we arrived there, it started to rain heavily. We were disappointed but decided to wait it out. Little did we know that we would have to wait for 5 hours before the rain finally stopped. Everyone was very hungry by that time, so we found a nearby restaurant and had lunch. The food warmed us up and lifted our spirits. After lunch, we began our visit to the pagoda. The architecture was stunning, and the history behind it was fascinating. Unfortunately, as soon as we started exploring, it began to rain heavily again. We took shelter under some trees and waited patiently for the rain to stop once more. It felt like forever, but when the rain finally ceased, it was already 5 pm. By then, everybody was soaked through and shivering from the cold. We knew that continuing our visit would not be enjoyable in such conditions. Reluctantly, we made the decision to leave the pagoda without having seen anything. Although our trip didn't go as planned, we still managed to make memories together. We laughed at how unlucky we were with the weather and promised ourselves that one day we would return to Con Son Pagoda under better circumstances. As we headed back home on the bus, damp but contented with each other's company, I realized that sometimes it's not about what you see or do but who you're with that truly matters.
