Võ Thị Sáu (1933-1952) was a Vietnamese heroine who fought against the French colonialists during the First Indochina War. On January 23, 1952, at the age of 19, Sáu was captured by the French while on a mission to transport ammunition. Despite being tortured and beaten, she refused to reveal any information about the resistance movement. On the same day, she was sentenced to death by firing squad and executed in the town of Đất Đỏ.
Võ Thị Sáu's sacrifice and bravery have become legendary in Vietnamese history, inspiring generations of young people to fight for their country's independence and freedom. Today, she is remembered as a national heroine, and her name is synonymous with courage and patriotism.
