In the following decade, from 1995 to 2005, the number of male IT students continued to rise, peaking at about 150,000 in 2000, before leveling off at around 120,000 by 2005. The number of female IT students increased steadily during this period, reaching around 30,000 by 2005. From 2005 to 2015, there was a decline in the number of male IT students, dropping to about 70,000, while the number of female IT students continued to rise, reaching around 60,000. Overall, the graph suggests that while male IT students have historically outnumbered female IT students, the gap between the two has narrowed significantly over the past three decades, with the number of female IT students showing a consistent increase and the number of male IT students declining in the latter years.
