Hello eryone. My name is ....Today I would like to talk about Hanami, a very famous and beautiful festival in Japan. Hanami means “flower viewing” in Japanese. It is a special time in spring, when people go outside to look at the cherry blossoms, also called sakura. The cherry trees bloom from late March to early April, and the flowers only last for a short time—about one or two weeks. So, many people enjoy this chance to see the flowers before they fall. At first, a long time ago, only rich people in Japan had the habit of watching cherry blossoms. They sat under the trees, drank tea, and wrote poems. But after that, farmers and normal people also started to enjoy this tradition. In the spring, they climbed small hills near their houses and ate lunch under the cherry blossom trees. They believed that the flowers brought good luck and a good harvest for the year. Today, Hanami is a big event for everyone in Japan. Families, friends, classmates, and co-workers go to the park and have a picnic under the sakura trees. They bring food, drinks, and enjoy talking, singing, and taking photos. Some people even stay until evening, and the trees are lit up with beautiful lights. Hanami is not just about looking at flowers. It is also a time for people to feel happy, peaceful, and close to nature. Many people say that cherry blossoms are like life—they are beautiful, but they don’t last long. So, Hanami also reminds us to enjoy each moment in life. For me, Hanami is a wonderful festival. It is simple but very meaningful. I hope one day I can go to Japan and enjoy Hanami with my own eyes.Thank you for listening.
