Online shopping can certainly be an awesome way to go. No lines, no traffic, no crowds of people. But is online shopping safer?
Experts says that online consumers may now be better protected than traditional shoppers, especially if they follow a few useful tips. First of all, make sure that you are on the site of a real company. Some thieves have created websites that look like the real one just to get your information and money. The best way to check if a site is real is to look for the “s”, which stands for “secure”, in the “https” part of the website address bar. Another indication of a safe website is a special icon in the shape of a padlock which you can find on the browser bar. And it is better to shop with online companies that you know and trust.
Secondly, make sure your computer has a firewall and up-to-date antivirus software. Updating your software is one of the easiest things you can do to stop hackers from attacking your system and protect your personal information. Moreover, beware of links to deals that are too good to be true on social networking sites. If you have doubts, contact the sellers directly. Finally, keep the details of your purchase in a safe place. Save or print the receipt, your order confirmation number and the tracking number. If you have a problem with the order, this information will help you solve the problem quickly.
36. What is the best title of the passage?
A. Online shopping, pros and cons
B. How to be a smart online shopper
C. Online vs traditional shopping
D. Steps to shop online
37. According to the passage, how do people check if the website is real?

C. The website should be from a real company.
D. The website should be updated.
38. What does the letter “s” in “https://” stand for?

Each nation has many people who voluntarily take care of others. For example, many high school and college students in the United States often spend many hours as volunteers in hospitals, orphanages or homes for the aged. They read books to the people in these places. Sometimes the students just visit them, play games with them or listen to their problems.
Other young volunteers work in the homes of sick or old people. They clean up their houses, do their shopping or mow their lawns. For boys who no longer have fathers, there is a voluntary organization called Big Brothers. College students take these boys to baseball games and help them to get to know things that boys usually learn from their fathers.
Some high school students take part in helping disadvantaged or handicapped children. They give care and comfort to them and help them to overcome their difficulties. Young college and university students participate in helping the people who have suffered badly in wars or natural disasters. During summer vacations, they volunteer to work in remote or mountainous areas to provide education for children.
Each city has a number of clubs where boys and girls can go to play games. Some of these clubs organise short trips to the mountains, beaches or other places of interest. Most of these clubs use a lot of high schools and college students as volunteers because they are young enough to understand the problems of younger boys and girls.
Volunteers believe that some of the happiest people in the world are those who help to bring happiness to others.

Section 9: Choose the word or phrase among A, B, C or D that best fits the blank space in the following passage.
Telephones help people speak to one another when they are apart. For more than a hundred years, nearly every telephone was a landline. A landline telephone is one that needs to be connected by a wire to a network of other telephones. Because of the wires, people could not take those telephones with them when they left their homes or offices.
What if you had to make a call while you were away from home? You had to find a pay phone. Pay phones are landlines found in public places. Many pay phones are on the street. You can make a call from inside a glass or metal space called a phone booth. Once you are inside the booth, you put coins into a slot in the phone to make a call.
Telephones have seen a lot of progress. Today, many people carry cell phones. Cell phones do not need to be connected with wires. They can be used almost anywhere and can fit in an adult's hand.
Many cell phones sold today are smart phones. A smart phone is a cell phone that has lots of computer-style features. For example, people use smart phones to check e-mail and go on the Internet. And all that can be done using something small enough to carry in a pocket!

Section 10: Read the text and decide whether the following statements are TRUE (T) or FALSE (F) or NOT GIVEN (NG).
Everybody has got a way of relaxing from the work done during the week. Many people like to have their hobbies like gardening, collecting, reading, dancing and playing cards or chess. Others prefer to practise some kind of sport like football, basketball, handball, golf, tennis or swimming. Still others prefer not to take a direct part in an activity and decide for an entertainment going to the ballet, opera, cinema, theatre, circus or attending a sports event. The option for a hobby, a sport or an entertainment varies according to people's age, sex, education, social status opportunity and personal needs.
For those who prefer an entertainment several aspects must be considered: if you live in the countryside, it's difficult to have the opportunity of access to most of the events because they usually take place in larger towns: ballet, opera and classical music are diversions usually attended by the so-called upper classes and people with a higher education; going to the cinema, theatre, circus or a sports event is something that most people like whatever their social status is. The sports events, especially football, are particularly popular.
More than deciding for a hobby, a sport or an entertainment without any special reason, sometimes you have to decide according to your needs. That's what happens to some people who have to work in the same position all day long and need to practise some kind of physical activity to prevent physical health problems. In this case the option for a sport would be advisable.
36. Swimming isn’t a physical activity.
37. Your education can influence your way of relaxing.
38. Those with a higher education prefer opera to rugby.
39. More people attend the ballet than the cinema.
