3. Lời giải chi tiết

Student A: What kind of disasters do you know about?

Student B: There are many different kinds of disasters, but some of the most common include earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, and wildfires.

Student A: What are the dangers of each of these disasters?

Student B: Earthquakes can cause buildings to collapse, roads to crack, and fires to start. Floods can sweep away homes and businesses, and they can also carry dangerous diseases. Hurricanes can bring high winds, heavy rain, and storm surges that can cause widespread damage. Tornadoes are powerful rotating columns of air that can destroy anything in their path. Wildfires can spread rapidly and burn out of control, destroying homes and forests.

Student A: What should people do during each of these disasters?

Student B: During an earthquake, people should drop, cover, and hold on. If they are indoors, they should find a sturdy table or desk to get under. If they are outdoors, they should lie on the ground and cover their head and neck with their arms. During a flood, people should evacuate to higher ground. If they cannot evacuate, they should stay in a safe place on the upper floors of their home or building. During a hurricane, people should also evacuate to higher ground or to a hurricane shelter. During a tornado, people should seek shelter in a basement or interior room of a sturdy building. During a wildfire, people should evacuate if the fire is approaching their home. If they cannot evacuate, they should stay indoors and close all windows and doors.

Student A: What shouldn't people do during each of these disasters?

Student B: During an earthquake, people should not try to run outside. They should also not use elevators. During a flood, people should not drive through flooded areas. During a hurricane, people should not stay in a mobile home or camper trailer. During a tornado, people should not go outside. During a wildfire, people should not try to fight the fire themselves.

Student A: Thanks for sharing this information with me. It's important to be prepared for disasters, and knowing what to do can save your life.

Student B: You're welcome. I'm glad I could help.
