By coughing or sneezing in close proximity to others, which can spread droplets containing the virus or bacteria.

By touching surfaces or objects that are contaminated with the virus or bacteria and then touching their face or mouth, which can transfer the germs.

By sharing food or drinks or other personal items such as towels or utensils with someone else, which can also transfer germs.

2. The last time I got sick, how do I think I caught the illness?

I remember feeling a sore throat and congestion, which later turned into a fever and body aches. I believe I caught the illness from a colleague at work who was coughing and sneezing without covering their mouth. We were in the same meeting room for a few hours, and despite being seated several feet apart, I think I must have come into contact with their germs through the air. I also remember not washing my hands as frequently as I should have, which may have contributed to me catching the illness.
